6th Annual Jingle Bear 5K

Kick off the holidays at the 6th annual Midwest Events Jingle Bear 5K and Kids Fun Run at the White Bear Lake Boatworks Marina.  Run along the beautiful shore of White Bear Lake and celebrate the season by bringing a non-perishable food item and/or toy for the White Bear Area Food Shelf.  All 5k runners receive a Santa hat, jingle bells and a long sleeve tech shirt. Women Run the Cities

September 27 Celebrate sisterhood at Women Run the Cities, one of ESPN’s top five races for women in the nation. Organizers say that this popular event—featuring 10-mile and 10K runs, a 5K run/walk and a girls’ 1-mile run—is great for experienced runners and newbies alike. The courses start and finish at gorgeous Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, and track along the Mississippi River. Register online; spots fill up quickly. Girls’ run open to ages 4–12. Hot Dash 5K & 10 Mile

Spring may be just around the corner, but tough Minnesotans know that to keep warm, you’ve got to keep moving. Runners from around the Twin Cities will brave the brisk weather to kick off their running season. Have you always talked about a Girls’ Night Out, but never followed through? White Bear Winter Frolic 5K and Kids Run

Defy the brisk March weather with this 5K and half-mile kids’ fun run. The top three men and women/boys and girls in each age category receive awards, with the overall male and female winners receiving trophies. All participants receive a long-sleeve T-shirt proclaiming their feat of making it through yet another Minnesota winter. This is the third race of the Great White Bear Grand Prix series. $30 before race day, $40 on March 7. $10–$13 for the fun run. Whether you’re reliving memories of your hockey glory days or simply want to get out on the ice with your kids, check out open hockey hours at the White Bear Lake Sports Center.
