CRAFTY BEES AND BUTTERFLIES

(FOR ADULTS, AND KIDS AGES 10 AND OLDER WITH ADULT)

Search colorful asters and goldenrod flowers for our helpful pollinators. After meeting a few; we go inside to create some through the craft of needle felting. We’ll use cookie cutters, wool roving and needles to make a bumble bee, green sweat bee, monarch or swallowtail butterfly. Snack provided!

SNEAKY SQUIRREL MYSTERY

(FOR CHILDREN, AGES 8+ WITH ADULT)

Stella the Squirrel has done it again! She’s rummaged through your belongings and now your precious magnifying glass is missing. Where can it be? S'more Fun in the Sun

(For Children Ages 8+, with Adult)

Build solar ovens to cook tasty treats, power fans with real solar cells, meet an animal that uses the sun to power its movement, go on a hike around the pond, and finish up with fun activities in the nature play yard! We’ll learn a lot about how nature and people use the sun to survive.

Super Spiders

(Ages 4-10, with adult, 11+) 

Spiders are nature's bug zappers! Meet live spiders and learn about webs and spider silk. Put together a spider identification book to take home. Hike to look for orb, funnel, jumping and crab spiders. Wear shoes suitable for hiking.

Room at the Inn - Living Nativity

Congregation and members of the community alike make their annual journey to view the classic manger scene displayed on the grounds of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Featuring live animals rented from Hugo and volunteering actors adorned in handmade costumes, the scene is a reminder of the season.

Santa and Albert's Holiday Play at Bachman's on Lyndale

Albert the Elf has been admiring the skills of his favorite superheroes and is eager to become one himself! But when Super Rudolph - a popular Christmas toy and Albert's desired sidekick - is in high demand and short supply, Albert's superhero dreams are at risk. Will our favorite elf get everything he wants this Christmas, or give up on his dream and turn in his cape? Ice Block Party

The weather outside may be frightful but the ice will be delightful! Redeemer Lutheran Church is hosting its annual community Ice Block Party to beat the winter blues. There will be professional ice carving demonstrations and adults and kids will have a chance to do some carving, too! Join us for free sledding, s'mores and hot chocolate. 6th Annual Jingle Bear 5K

Kick off the holidays at the 6th annual Midwest Events Jingle Bear 5K and Kids Fun Run at the White Bear Lake Boatworks Marina.  Run along the beautiful shore of White Bear Lake and celebrate the season by bringing a non-perishable food item and/or toy for the White Bear Area Food Shelf.  All 5k runners receive a Santa hat, jingle bells and a long sleeve tech shirt. Family Day at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts

Spark a love of the arts in your child with a day full of live music and opportunities for your toddlers and grade school children to explore different instruments.
