Rachel Cain, an area photographer for more than 25 years, captured this award-winning shot one morning on Lake Drive in White Bear Lake. “I wanted to capture a dream-like image, the essence of geese flying,” she says. “To me, that meant just the shape of the geese, not all the detail.” She used a long exposure photographic technique for this image, which embraces light and movement.
