Dellwood resident Terry Ward captured this peaceful image on White Bear Lake in what he describes as a “brief and rare magical window before the first snowfall, when the frozen lake became a giant natural skating rink.” Looking toward Manitou Island, Ward used his iPhone 13 to compose the scene. “I searched for the largest crack in the ice that seemed to point directly at the setting sun, adding both interest and a sense of direction to the foreground,” Ward says.
