White Bear Lake Historical Society’s gangster tour takes people back to 1930s era gangster hideouts.

Step into the lives and former hideouts of 1930s era gangsters who spent their days tucked away in cottages around White Bear and Bald Eagle Lakes through White Bear Lake Historical Society’s gangster tour.

Typically presented by the historical society’s executive director Sara Markoe Hanson or education and programs coordinator Maureen Raymond, the tour lasts about an hour. Behold a Mahtomedi speakeasy and the location of a well-known dance club while on the tour.
