Willow Lane PTO Night at Culver's

It’s the perfect excuse to skip a night of cooking and support Willow Lane Elementary School at the Vadnais Heights Culver’s. Mention Willow Lane, and 10 percent of the proceeds from your meal will go to the school. Whether you save room for rich frozen custard or not, it’s still a sweet deal.

Citizens Police Academy

Ever wonder what makes the White Bear Lake Police Department tick? The Citizens Police Academy is designed to answer that question. Throughout this eight-week course, participants will learn about a range of police and public safety topics, as well as procedures, through a combination of classroom lectures and hands-on experiences. Participants must be at least 18 and fill out an application; available online or at the police station. 651.429.8511.

One-to-One Computer Help

Need to brush up on your computer skills? Let the great people at White Bear Lake Library help you out. You can learn how to surf the Internet, set up an email account, get help working on a document or get your questions answered. One-to-one instruction is provided; no appointment necessary, and all ages are welcome. 651.724.6007.

Carriage Rides and Photos with Santa

Saturdays this month are magical in downtown White Bear Lake, where shops and businesses are sponsoring horse-drawn carriage rides and photos with Santa. Trek through a winter scene before stopping for a visit with Santa, along with some holiday shopping downtown. Free with a donation to the White Bear Lake Food Shelf.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Making Mahtomedi festive for the holidays is combined with charity at this annual tree lighting event. Donate $10 to buy a light in honor of a loved one, and help decorate Mahtomedi while supporting a good cause. The names of those being honored will be read at the lighting, and proceeds from the event go to the Mahtomedi Area Food Shelf. 651.395.5352.

Line Dancing Lessons

Join the crew at Dugout Bar for some tips that will have you dancing like a pro in no time. Beginners 7 p.m., intermediate group 8 p.m. 651.429.8640.
