Wanted: Web Intern
Tiger Oak Publications is on the lookout for a web intern to help out with our eight community lifestyle magazine websites: Plymouth, Lake Minnetonka, Southwest Metro, Edina, Woodbury, Maple Grove, White Bear Lake and St. Louis Park.
We’re seeking a web-savvy journalist or journalism student who’d intern part-time (15-20 hours per week, so 2-2.5 days a week in our downtown office) with us from July through December 31. This is an unpaid internship, but a stipend for expenses is provided.
Our ideal candidate would be familiar with Facebook, Twitter, AP Style and able to write stories/blogs for our website, edit and fact-check, and upload stories and events to our sites. He or she would be hard-working, ambitious, creative, detail-oriented and a self-starter with an interest in the magazine industry. Some experience writing journalistic feature stories is helpful but not required.
The candidate would be one of two web interns and would be reporting directly to the web editor and indirectly (sometimes directly) to the managing editor.
If you’re interested, act soon and email a cover letter, resume and three writing samples to web editor Bobby Hart at bobby.hart@tigeroak.com by August 9 (sooner the better).
